PCRC

The Physician Credentials Registry of Canada (PCRC), a division of the Medical Council of Canada, was established to provide a centralized, uniform process to obtain primary source verification of a physician’s diploma and other core medical credentials. PCRC will provide an accepted national standard for source verification.

The information obtained by PCRC is permanently stored in a centralized repository, and provides a confidential, lifetime professional portfolio. With the applicant’s approval, the information can be shared with organizations such as provincial and territorial medical regulatory authorities and certifying and qualifying bodies in Canada. Please note this Registry stores professional information only, and does not review or verify credentials; it simply creates a database to store credentials once verified. This allows physicians to simply refer anyone wishing to confirm verified credentials to this registry rather than creating a personal file each time a physician is required to verify credentials.
